When Rinpoche next come to Australia, he will continue the teachings on Mahamudra and Gampopa’s teachings.
The first two books listed below are the texts that Rinpoche uses when he teaches (his text is of course in Tibetan, but it is the same book).
The Medicine Buddha Teachings book by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, (listed at the bottom of the page) is a great supplement to Rinpoche’s teachings on the Medicine Buddha practice.
Mahamudra – The Moonlight – Quintessence of Mind and Meditation
by Dakpo Tashi Namgyal – translated by Lobsang P. Lhalungpa.
Rinpoche gave the third teaching on this book at a 10 day retreat held at his centre in Orange (NSW, Australia) in 2008, and plans to continue on his next Australian visit
When Mahamudra first appeared in 1986, it was a landmark in the history of Buddhist publishing in English. It was translated at the behest of the 16th Karmapa, who was asked what text would be most beneficial to Western practitioners. Collecting all of Mahamudra’s key texts in one volume, the book is a staple for practitioners of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, who appreciate its detailed theoretical and practical explanations. This stunning new edition, printed on fine paper, is as inspiring to behold as it is to read.
Gampopa’s – Jewel Ornament of Liberation
Translated by Khenpo Konchog Gyaltsen Rinpoche. The first teaching by Rinpoche was given at his Wentworthville centre (Sydney, Australia) in 2008.
A masterwork of Tibetan Buddhism–providing the complete foundation for study and practice–from beginning to Buddhahood. Includes teachings on Buddha-nature, finding the spiritual master, impermanence, karma, cultivation of bodhicitta, development of the six perfections, the ten bodhisattva bhumis, Buddhahood, and the activities of the Buddha.
Medicine Buddha Teachings by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche
Each year, Rinpoche usually gives a teaching and Empowerment on Medicine Buddha.
This book presents the Medicine Buddha practice which is used for healing physical and mental problems and gives a very detailed commentary on how to do this practice. In addition to this, Thrangu Rinpoche gives a very detailed teaching on the Medicine Buddha Sutra by the Shakyamuni Buddha along with two shorter versions and a commentary on the twelve aspirations themselves.
